Parent Education Speaker Series
The Well-Balanced Student -
Strategies to address cheating and academic integrity, sleep, media use, and more
Thursday, April 26th, 7-8:30pm
Leigh Cafetorium
When we are too focused on grades and performance, we deny our children the time and energy they need to tackle the demanding work of growing up. In this research-based presentation, parents will explore research on and strategies to address cheating and academic integrity, sleep, media use, and more. Parents will also reflect on how to help to reduce academic stress without sacrificing achievement, and increase children's resilience, creativity, and well-being.
This interactive, 90-minute workshop includes a PowerPoint presentation, coupled with opportunities for personal reflection, audience participation, and brief discussion activities. The presentation will be delivered by Mary Hofstedt, the Community Education Director at Challenge Success
(www.challengesuccess.org).

Relay for Life at Leigh - April 27th-28th
Relay For Life - Cambrian is an annual grass roots, community-based team event. This year, Leigh
High
School is hosting this fun filled overnight event and the energy level is preset to high! Families and friends will share in fun crafts, games, music, and dancing all while raising funds to give hope. All ages welcome!

Help needed - Senior Grad Night
Preparations are currently underway for Senior Grad Night and a most amazing night of fun is planned at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. More info
here. A wonderful team of volunteers has been working hard on this project - Kristina Williams, Ann Auld, Ron Blumstein and Jen Petroff.
However, more parent support is needed with ticket sales, fundraising, planning, communications, etc. and the team would very much appreciate any time you can give. Please contact Kristina at [email protected] if you are able to help. Thank you!

Ms. Celeste Smiley is the teacher rep for Home & School Club. At each HSC Board meeting, she shares what is happening in the classrooms and other general info related to the teachers. Her reports provide a treasure trove of information and highlight so many of the amazing things happening at our school. Click

We Love our Teachers and Staff!
Many thanks to our Staff Appreciation co-chairs, Carol Hofheimer and Susan Lovelady, and their wonderful team of volunteers for showering love and appreciation on our teachers and staff every month. Here's a look back at what they've done during the past few months:
