A Warm Welcome
We are pleased to inform you that Takisha Brown has joined the staff of Grace Church Brooklyn Heights as our Parish Administrator. As many of you know, Takisha has been working here since May in a temporary position and we are very happy that she will now be with us in a permanent, full-time position.
Takisha has 11 years prior experience as an administrative and personal assistant, and has worked in a number of areas which range from reception, events management, and human relations. While working most recently as a temp through the firm of Winter Wyman, she continues to work on the weekends as the Executive Administrator at the Loyal Baptist Church, where she continues to worship.
Please join us in welcoming Takisha to Grace. If you have not yet had the opportunity of speaking with her, please introduce yourself on your next conversation so she can get to know the members of our community. Takisha is available at (718) 624-1850, x10, and at  parishoffice@gracebrooklyn.org .

Blessings,
The Rev. Allen F. Robinson
Summer Men's Book Group

Join the Reverend Dr. Allen F. Robinson for a new summer men's book group. The group will meet in the evening on the last Thursday of each month from July to September, and will read three books by women of color. Each Thursday is independent, you don't need to commit to all of them! Our first book is "Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng (available in Kindle and hard copy at the Brooklyn Library). To RSPV for our first meeting on July 25th at 6pm (located TBD), please e-mail Jim Williamson.

Stewardship in Giving

We’re excited to announce that a group of supportive parishioners have put together a matching fund for our Annual Giving Stewardship campaign. All new and increased donations in the month of June will be matched up to $30,000, to help us reach our goals and to continue important ministries. More information will be sent out in a mailing, but we hope you will use this as a perfect opportunity to join the Grace pledging family, or to increase your pledge if that is right for you. Pledges can be made here or by returning a pew card.
Becoming Beloved Community: Sacred Ground

In response to key themes that have emerged from Grace’s ongoing Core Values inquiry, we are developing a new " Becoming Beloved Community" initiative. In the near future, you will receive a letter with more detailed information concerning this initiative.

One of the pieces in  Becoming Beloved Community is Sacred Ground , the Episcopal Church’s exciting new film and readings - based dialogue series on race, grounded in faith.

You will hear more about  Sacred Ground during the announcements in church Sunday. In the meantime, for more information, please click here .
Grace Education for Ministry
The Grace Education for Ministry group is looking for people who may be interested in joining them come this September. Each year, EfM participants commit to meeting on Wednesday evenings from September to June. In a safe and trusting environment, we study the Bible, our Christian tradition and theology, reflecting on our call to ministry in the world.
Contact co-mentors Kathy Page   or the Rev. John Musco   for more information. Or you can speak to or contact our current participants; Jane Parkerton, Cub Gichenje , Claude Scales or Elizabeth Stong.

Calling all Coffee Hour Hosts.

Coffee Hour is a time for fellowship and conversation among church members to share a cup of coffee, a pastry, a smile and to engage in small talk amongst our church family. What a great way to spend time after Sunday service?

As we continue in this awesome fellowship, we are looking for volunteers to host Coffee Hour after the 11:00 am service.

It can be very simple or as elaborate (but not expensive) as you'd like, infusing fruits, carrots, celery with hummus dips or pastries. You can prepare your favorite goodies to share, some homemade cookies or brownies. If you would like to participate but just do not have the time to shop, you can also make a monetary donation and the Church will do the shopping for you.

We hope you will consider this amazing opportunity to participate in this special ministry of bringing people together and volunteer a small amount of time to host.

If you are interested in volunteering one Sunday, please sign up by adding your name to our volunteer book located in the back of the sanctuary or contact Marilyn Grant, Emily Horcher, or Sheila O’Neill . We look forward to you being our host.
