A Message From Our CEO
Dear U Prep Community:

It’s Open Enrollment Season at the U! We are currently accepting new families for the 2022-23 school year. In this issue, we invite you to learn how your family and friends can join our school community. Our leaders also share tools to help prepare young kindergarten scholars for the upcoming school year.

As we round out the third quarter, we would like to share an update on our Ford Law Academy and the Art & Design Pathway at UPA and UPAD high schools.
You’ll also meet our receptionists and hear about one of our alum-turned-Crew-members in this edition. Finally, members of our Crew of extraordinary educators have once again been named semi-finalists in MAPSA’s 2022 Administrator and Teacher of the Year recognition. Scroll down to learn more in News at the U!

Ready4K Provides Free Parenting Tips via Text
At U Prep Schools, from kindergarten through their step up to middle school, our primary focus is assisting our young scholars in developing skills and nurturing individuality to create successful and contributing citizens in our global society.

As part of that effort, we're partnering with Ready4K to provide our parents with a FREE 3x weekly text that's filled with information you can use to help your child learn and grow. Learn more and sign up at the link below.
Future Plans for UPAD High Schools Pathway
Our scholars at UPAD High benefit from our strong partnership with the College for Creative Studies. Students gain early college experience while still in high school. This is a major advantage, allowing these students to graduate more prepared for college-level courses than their peers. As the program continues to evolve, UPAD will continue to offer opportunities for young artists to grow and expand their skills.
Meet our Receptionists!
We want to introduce you to the first faces you see when you walk into our buildings - our receptionists. These are the dedicated crew members that serve as the central point of contact for our schools and make all visitors feel welcome upon arrival. Find out more about their U Prep experience below.
The Ford Law Academy at UPA High School Begins to Take Strides Forward
This was our pilot year for the new four-year Ford Law Academy that launched last fall at UPA High School. Our scholars have gained valuable exposure in the legal field and will continue to make strides as they move along in the program. Learn more about the way this pathway will be evolving in the coming years at the link below.
Meet Anton Horton
ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Anton Horton graduated as a member of the 2014 graduating class at UPA High School and went on to gain his Masters of Education from Wayne State University. Anton now works at UPAD Middle School as the Dean of Culture. Find out more about Anton’s unique experience as an Alumni now working for U Prep below.

The U Crew Collective
Our Seniors are finalizing their post-secondary plans with the help of our College and Career Coordinators. The process over the past two years has changed due to the force of the pandemic. In our next blog article in April, Ashley Woolen from UPSM High shares the innovative approach she uses to support her college-bound scholars in their quest for higher learning and careers. She will share tips from her toolbox, so stay tuned!
