Dear U Prep Community,

We are halfway through the school year, and I would like to thank you for remaining steadfast with us on this journey. Your flexibility and trust in our process - as we navigate through constant changes and mandates due to our country’s fight against COVID - has been invaluable. Our students have embraced this new way of teaching and learning like champs, and although it has been an adjustment, they are persevering through. We recognize that these wins would not be possible without your support - not only to your child but to us, the educators to whom you entrust your child’s education.

This mid-year milestone is a time that High School scholars are preparing for the next step in their academic journey - to college and beyond. Scholars in elementary school are learning principles and practices that are creating a foundation for learning, and middle schoolers are at a pivotal time, as they prepare for High School and future goals.

In the New Year, U Prep Schools will remain committed to preparing all scholars for success regardless of the environment or national crisis. Every child will succeed, every family will be supported, and every teacher will continue to be properly trained and developed. This is our commitment to U.

Included in this issue are upcoming Open House dates for you to share with your family and friends, as we prepare for a season of Open Enrollment in February. Please help us celebrate our seniors who have been accepted into colleges and universities of their choice, along with receiving an abundance of scholarship dollars early in the school year!

Our College Counselors and College Prep Coordinator's play a pivotal role in helping our scholars achieve their post-secondary goals and make sure they are well prepared for their next step in their academic journey. These counselors work hard and build relationships with our students to make sure that they are on the right track post-graduation.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Cherell Nichols was a member of the graduating class at University Prep Academy in 2018.

She is currently attending Grambling State University where she is studying chemistry and is involved in a multitude of clubs and organizations on campus.
