Website Traffic UP by 150%
I had noticed that the number of visitors on WarmbloodStallionsNA.com was up 150% the first week in April, compared to the previous week, and it's up even more now. Requests for stallion info have also gone up, which means these are serious breeders coming to the site.

Traffic normally goes up this time of year, but not that dramatically. I can't explain it, but I wonder if more breeders are choosing North American stallions during the virus outbreak.

WT Leapfrog Offered Fresh Cooled for the First Time
With the break in the 2020 competition schedule,  WT Leapfrog  has returned to Wild Turkey Farm to be offered fresh cooled for the foreseeable future.

Prior to the pause caused by the pandemic, 9-year-old WT Leapfrog’s year was off to a strong start: placing 5th in the $200,000 Grand Prix at the Desert International Horse Park and jumping clear with just a time fault in a subsequent $100,000 Grand Prix. ...

We've been posting Foundation Fridays on WarmbloodStallionsNA.com since 2018. Every other Friday we feature a foundation sire - one who has been influential in the development of warmblood breeds. We're pulling from the incredible archive of  The Horse Magazine , published by Chris Hector of Australia. Thank you, Chris, for permission to draw on your expertise!

In each of these articles, we introduce a Foundation Sire , and we also include links to stallions with his bloodlines who are on  WarmbloodStallionsNA.com .

Shine is a proven Hunter stallion, the ultimate combination of temperament, conformation, ability and beauty. Shine's babies continue to impress. He passes along his spectacular brain and temperament, as well as his head and neck. Many of his offspring have been started by amateurs. The Horse Magazine
Dressage Breeding and Hunter Breeding Articles
"One of the things that amazed me on my first visit to the KWPN stallion show, was the frank and open assessments offered by the Commission members at the press conferences. 'Typical Dutch,’ I was told with a smile."

Spoken by publisher Christopher Hector about his experience at the 2020 KWPN stallion show. The above excerpt is from one of the analytical articles about jumper and dressage breeding posted in March by  The Horse Magazine  of Australia.

Stallion Service Auctions: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Editorial by Kathy St. Martin and Jos Mottershead, Avalon Equine

Every year, mare owners begin their search for the perfect match for their mare(s). Usually this begins by perusing all the various Stallion Service Auctions offered by different warmblood registries. SSAs have become more and more popular in recent years, and it’s easy to see why. If done well, SSAs offer something for each of the parties involved: registries, stallion owners, and mare owners. There are good and bad issues that can come along with these benefits. Let’s look at some of the pros and cons for all parties.

Shown is Mannhattan , who has been featured in several Stallion Service Auctions.

Superstar Eventer Mary King's Own Homebred
Kings Temptress Dies After Foaling
Our heart goes out to eventing superstar Mary King of Great Britain. Mary is also a breeder, and last Saturday she lost a mare with whom she had so many bonds. Kings Temptress was one she bred herself, raised and trained her, and competed her up to the 5* level. With Kings Temptress, Mary became the first rider to win the Rolex Kentucky 4* with a homebred horse. Last Saturday, Mary lost Kings Temptress from complications following foaling. The foal survived and is with a surrogate, found through extensive sharing on Facebook.
