Test Preparedness
by Kent Goble, HCS Board Vice Chair

As the school year comes to a close over the next few weeks, it is that TIME as a student to get ready to write a "final" paper or take a "final" exam. This is to ensure that everything that you have read, studied, or researched has been retained and understood. The definition of test preparedness is an educational course, tutoring service, educational material, or a learning tool designed to increase students' performance on standardized exams or tests. The more a student prepares, the more likely the outcome will be successful.

As Christians, there are great parallels between test preparedness in school and our walk, or journey, to draw ourselves closer to God and submit our lives fully to HIM. I would argue that there is no greater purpose in a Christian's life than to pursue an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. As you journey through life, now in school and soon in the workplace or mission field, our entire existence on earth will consummate in a final test.

Field Trips and Events
Are Moving to HSL

In the past, only those who needed to register for classes or clubs needed an HSL account. However, we will be moving all Field Trips and most Event signups to HSL effective immediately. This means that many of you will need to create an HSL account to be able to sign up for these activities.

To create your HSL account if you do not already have one, click HERE. This link may also be found in the Members Only section of the website.

As a reminder, you must be re-enrolled in the school for 2022-2023 in order for your HSL account to be approved.

High School Highlights
College Bound High School Science Courses

Are you wondering about what science courses to take in high school?
What would look good on your transcript?
Does Physical Science count?
Biology or Chemistry or Physics or A&P?
Note: All high school sciences should have a lab component.

A very well rounded college bound student should have the following science courses:
  • Physical Science
  • Biology
  • Chemistry or Physics
  • Anatomy & Physiology

There are a few other variations, but this series will create a solid foundation for college and an excellent looking transcript.
