Dear Friends of the MAC:
With Governor Inslee’s recent extension of the Stay Home, Stay Healthy order, the MAC will remain closed through May 31. The four-phase reopening plan the Governor released on May 4 includes museums in Phase 3 with an anticipated start date in mid-June. The MAC has been working on a detailed reopening plan to ensure the safety of visitors and employees when that time comes. Our team is thinking through every step of the visitor experience
from encouraging online ticket sales to managing the flow of people in the galleries to allow for generous social distancing; from offering special hours for seniors and those with underlying medical conditions to a strict regimen of cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces.
We will share the details of the plan when our reopening date is confirmed.
In the meantime, we hope that you’ll continue to follow and participate in our many online programs including the upcoming Smithsonian webinar about Michael Jordan; the
Countdown to Eruption
commemorating the 40
anniversary of the Mount St. Helens eruption; and ArtFest Online 2020.
Take care and enjoy this lovely spring that we’re having and the outdoor activities it adds to our routines.
