| | County officials cut ribbon on Rabbit Hill Park Field 7 renovations | | |
The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners unveiled the newly renovated Field 7 at Rabbit Hill Park in Dacula. The natural-surface baseball field was converted to a state-of-the-art synthetic turf facility, designed to provide a smoother, more resilient playing surface. The upgrade improves accessibility for individuals who use wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids, allowing them to move safely and comfortably. By minimizing surface irregularities, the facility also reduces weather-related closures, thereby enhancing safety and supporting year-round use.
In addition to resurfacing the field, new fencing, dugouts, and foul poles were installed. The project also included drainage improvements, a retaining wall extension, and new concrete walkways that meet ADA standards. The $730,904 project was funded by Gwinnett County’s Recreation Fund.

| | Eligible businesses can earn thousands in Job Tax Credits | | |
Gwinnett County is taking part in an initiative created by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to redevelop and revitalize older commercial and industrial areas. New or existing businesses that create two or more jobs qualify for a $3,500 tax credit per job through the State Opportunity Zone Tax Credit. The credit is available within State Opportunity Zones, or areas located in or near a census block group with at least 15% poverty where an enterprise zone or urban redevelopment plan also exists.
The tax credit can also be taken against the business’s Georgia income tax liability and payroll withholding tax. Businesses must meet a minimum of two eligible net new jobs within a single tax year. If only two jobs are created, the employees cannot be married to each other. The credit can be claimed for five years if the jobs are maintained. For more information, email PNDBusinessOutreach@GwinnettCounty.com.
