Help Us Shape New Horsemanship Clinics
The USHJA is exploring the development of unmounted, educational clinics that focus on horsemanship for members and non-members around the country.

To help us in the development of such clinics, we are asking for your input into the types of topics that should be covered, the best areas of the country in which to host, times of year that are most convenient for members and other aspects.

Take a short survey to help us understand what would be most important to you as we develop unmounted, educational horsemanship clinics. Thank you for your time!
Congratulations to Elizabeth Woznica!

Member Milestones: Tessa Brown

Thirteen-year-old Tessa Brown represents Zone 1 and hails from West Hartford, Conn. She has moved up through the pony ranks and is now competitive in the Children's Jumper Division as well. She qualified two horses, Lady Plane and La Mirage, for the Children's Jumper Championship at the 59th annual Washington International Horse Show taking place through October 29. We caught up with Tessa and learned more about her with five questions!
What can we find you doing when you are not riding?
When I am not riding, you can usually find me skiing, at the beach, or traveling.
Do you remember your first time on a horse?
Yes, I do. I was 4 years old and rode a pony named Cheesecake. I remember that all I wanted to do was "run".
What is the best and worst thing that has happened to you in the show ring this year?
The best thing that has happened to me in the show ring this year happened recently. I won the $10,000 Children's Jumper Classic, presented by Radwandski Enterprises, with La Mirage at the Capital Challenge Horse Show. The worst thing that has happened to me in the show ring this year was getting a catch ride from a very prominent trainer and missing the lead change.
What is your biggest riding goal right now?
My biggest riding goal right now is to have a successful, competitive and consistent season at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington this winter.
If in 10 years you could be doing anything, what would it be?
I would be going to ride in the Olympics!
