Message From T/E School District Regarding the Presidential Inauguration:
In keeping with the past practice of airing the historically significant event of inaugurating a new President of the United States, all middle school students in the T/E School District will have the opportunity to watch this month's presidential inauguration ceremony and inaugural address. Students will view this recorded C-SPAN footage during their 8th Period classes on the afternoon of January 20,2017.  Please contact the administration should you have any questions.

MLK Casserole Collection-2017
Once again we will be making casseroles to help feed the homeless.  Last year TEMS students, faculty and their families made a record of more than 430 casseroles that were delivered to soup kitchens and shelters from Philadelphia to lower Chester County.   Our efforts were greatly appreciated since many freezers had been depleted over the holidays.

Here's how  YOU can participate in this rewarding service project:
PREPARE... Purchase your own or pick-up a disposable foil pan approx. 12x10x21/2.
Pans will be available in the TEMS office the week of January 9.  Also, we'll be handing them out as kids depart school on Friday, January 13.
MAKE... Gather family or friends to make your casserole. There are 7 great recipes to choose from.  Please remember to use Pork Free products in all casseroles.
FREEZE it for 24 hours - Casseroles MUST be frozen when delivered to school. casserole stack of
LABEL...  Tape or write the name of casserole on the top of the pan.  It's important that you indicate which casserole you made and the date it was made.
DELIVER... Drop off the casserole between 7:00am and 8:00am on Tuesday, 1/17/17. Parent & student volunteers will be collecting at all school entrances. Please contact Eileen Ryle (eileenryle@gmail.com or 610 406 1016) if you need to make other arrangements.

Start thinking Luau!
It may be cold outside but it's not too early to start thinking spring and this year that means the TEMS Parent Social and Auction Luau!  We are very excited and working hard to make this year's event the best one ever.  But...
We can't make this a successful event without your help!  We need help in getting donations of goods and services to be auctioned off at the event whose proceeds will directly benefit our children and school.
We are looking for all sorts of items from big to small.  Below is a list of some items that could be donated but the list goes on and on:

-If you own a business and you would like to donate goods or services from your business
-Gift cards or holiday gifts you have at home that you may not use
-Vacation homes that you would be willing to donate a stay
-Sports Tickets
And the list goes on and on...

If you have a donation ready to bring in, send it into school with your child or drop it off at the office to the attention of PTO Parent Social. Any questions please contact Sarah Kennick at sarahkenneck@gmail.com or Colleen Mahoney at cwalker_cmw@yahoo.com.
Thank you for your support!

What's Happening Around the School...
News from the Nurse-
The season for colds and illness has arrived!! To protect the health of our entire school community, please keep your child at home if they display the following symptoms:
-Fever
-Chills
-Vomiting or Diarrhea
-Constant coughing or excessive nasal discharge
-Sore throat accompanied by swollen glands
-Undiagnosed rash A child should remain at home 24 hours after symptoms subside.
In addition, a child should be fever-free, without the aid of fever-reducing medication. Remember if a child is sick, they should not go to other events such as sports, scouts, clubs and parties. Perfect attendance is not as important as the health of your child and our school community!
