USHJA Annual Meeting a Success in San Antonio
Members come together to share ideas and celebrate the sport

Zone 7 members were in attendance at the USHJA Annual Meeting, presented by World Equestrian Center, Dec. 10-14 in San Antonio, Texas. 


Nearly 300 members from across the country worked together brainstorming new ideas, discussing programs, hearing guest speakers, asking questions and raising concerns all with a common goal of improving the sport. Misty Morgan Receives Jane Marshall Dillon Award
Congratulations to Misty Morgan, of Little Rock, Arkansas, who was the West recipient of the Jane Marshall Dillon Award. 

According to those who know her, Morgan has an outstanding ability to coach, displays good horsemanship, and is sensitive and understanding of her students. She works endlessly to be inclusive and welcomes all riders in the community, regardless of discipline. Morgan currently serves as the President of the Arkansas Hunter Jumper Association, an association that she helped reorganize and establish as a USHJA Affiliate, and plays an instrumental role in keeping USHJA programs in the forefront for area riders, adapting, implementing them for AHJA.

Zone 7 Members Attending USHJA Gold Star Clinic in Wellington
Congratulations to Zone 7's Megan Cleland, Genevieve Munson, Kelsey Gore and Carolina Villanueva, who will be attending the USHJA Gold Star Clinic in Wellington, Florida, December 27-30. Click here to read more. 

The clinic in Wellington and a second clinic Jan. 18-21 in Thermal, Calif., are part of the USHJA Emerging Jumper Rider Program, which was launched earlier this year in conjunction with the USHJA Zone Jumper Team Championships, to identify Jumper athletes who have the skill and desire to excel in the sport. Stay tuned to see who is attending the clinic in California. 

The Gold Star Clinics will be live streamed and available on demand at beginning Dec. 28. USHJA members are eligible for a 50 percent discount on their subscription when they subscribe by entering EQUSHJA2018 in the Redeem Coupon section.

Each clinic will offer four days of horsemanship, stable management, mounted instruction and additional education from top athletes and horsemen including lead clinician Richard Spooner.  Click here to read more about the Gold Star Clinics.
