Dear Friends

Well this is the week! There is an excitement at church that feels a bit like Christmas. This Sunday the sanctuary is ready for our return after 6 weeks in the fellowship hall. 

First, a huge thanks to Mike Beck and his crew that did all the leg work researching, visiting other churches and getting bids. And to EJ and David for their work on the capital funds campaign. And to all those on spiritual life and JD and the AV team for making our downstairs worship time a real blessing. What an exciting time!

And the Christian Ed program at church has undergone major transformation. Upgraded spaces for kids, Renee and Lydia have spent hours getting ready for fall.

Sanctuary Help: A BIG THANK YOU!



If you helped with the sanctuary floor project in any way- cleaning, tearing down, moving pews, dusting afterward, reassembly of the room, planning the project, helping with fundraising- whatever your role was, we thank you very much! This job was so well done and so organized, and that wouldn't have happened without you!

Please try your best to stay NEXT SUNDAY, August 23rd, after worship for just 5 minutes for a group picture in the sanctuary. Thanks!

Last Sunday we decorated envelopes for welcome packages. We’re expecting lots of visitors at our Sunday School kickoff on September 13. 

This fall, our goal is to foster deep community among our families—not just on Sunday mornings, but throughout the week. But community starts now! 

Sunday, August 23, please join us right after worship for an informal Picnic on the Green. Bring a picnic basket and blanket. I’ll bring some extra drinks and toys. It’s a wonderful, relaxed chance for our current Sunday School families to share a meal and connect!

Petition: 350.org and MP Leah Gazan have teamed up to launch an official parliamentary petition that calls on the federal government to put people and the planet ahead of fossil fuel profits, and stop fast-tracking catastrophic fossil fuel projects. N’Amerind Friendship Centre is seeking donations of new or gently used children’s shoes as they honour Residential School Survivors (shoes will be donated to local non-profit organizations after Orange Shirt day on Sept 30).

The Shire to Stratford: A Youth Overnight Quest



Attend a unique overnight experience in Stratford inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, featuring a live theatre performance at the renowned Avon Theatre alongside a variety of engaging and memorable activities. Registration is open for youth (grade 7 and up) and their youth leaders. Dig deeper into our event details and share with youth. Limited tickets are available, so don't wait!



The theatre ticket is generously covered by a grant from the Western Ontario Waterways Region of the United Church of Canada.
