Know an organization that’s right for SCFD?

Eligibility applications for organizations new to SCFD are now open. Please share with other organizations who you’d like to see join our family. Organizations can learn more about SCFD eligibility here. And, mark your calendars, the Eligibility Open House will be held on August 9, 2023! Applications close on September 14, 2023. 

(Please note: No currently funded organization is required to complete this – new organizations only).

Reminder: Review the SCFD Statute

As you spend your SCFD dollars, please don’t forget to review the statute and funding limitations. Review the Statutory Exclusions for Use of Funds for details.

Colorado Privacy Act

The Attorney General’s Office will be providing additional information about the Colorado Privacy Act and how it affects nonprofits. You can sign up for updates on the Colorado Privacy Act here. And, stay tuned for more information about an upcoming training with the Colorado Nonprofit Association and the Attorney General’s Office!

Save the Date: Nonprofit Legal Audit Clinic - July 25

Get your legal questions answered for free!
The Nonprofit Legal Audit Clinic is a great opportunity for Colorado nonprofits to receive a free legal assessment. Nonprofits can meet with volunteer business attorneys to review paperwork, assess potential problem areas and address special legal issues. Eligible nonprofit organizations are invited to apply and upon application approval, will be required to submit additional documentation prior to the event on Tuesday, July 25. Celebrate Pride Month through arts, culture and science!

This month is Pride Month! Pride Month is celebrated annually in June in honor of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. According to History Colorado, the first Pride event in the Denver metro area was held in 1974 at Cheesman Park. 

You can celebrate Pride here in the Denver Metro area alongside three of our amazing grantees! The Gay Men’s and Women’s Chorus, Harmony: A Colorado Chorale, and the Mile High Freedom Bands have been providing been providing safe spaces for LGBTQIA members of the Denver metro community to express themselves through music for more than thirty years. Join them at the following events this month:

Roundtables from The Collaborative of the SCFD
The Collaborative of the SCFD hosts Roundtables, Trainings and Networking events, which are open to all SCFD Tiers. Please RSVP to Jannett@Collaborativescfd.org if you would like to attend any events below.

  • Education Roundtable: Thursday, August 3; 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Join other educators from SCFD-funded organizations at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science to discuss the upcoming school year, goals, collaboration possibilities and anything else you'd like to share. This meeting will be in person in the 3rd Floor Community Room, with a virtual option.

  • Volunteer Coordinators Roundtable
Network with other SCFD-funded organizations around volunteer coordination by sharing strategies, successes, challenges and ways to incorporate DEIA work into volunteer programs at the following sessions:
a. Thursday, June 22; 3:30 - 4:40 p.m. on Zoom
b. Wednesday, September 20; 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. at
c. Tuesday, December 5; 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. at Swallow Hill Music
