- The Transformative Power of Storytelling and Collaboration
Join the Collaborative of the SCFD for a keynote and Q&A featuring Josh Miller, MBA (he/they) on April 23, 2024 from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Storytelling is not just an art; it's a powerful impetus for change. That statement embodies Josh Miller’s ethos: “Being visible can shift culture, and sharing our stories can be the catalyst that changes how people see and move through the world.” In the nonprofit sector, storytelling can be the spark that ignites transformation in thought, policy, and action. When blended with collaboration - across departments or through co-creation between institutions and community members – you can unleash a powerful force that can drive social, political, and cultural movements forward. From the sense of belonging of program participants to supporting racial healing and reconciliation, and increasing access to resources, Miller will share stories and real-world case studies that bring these approaches to life. Whether you have a lean team or hundreds of people on staff, these approaches are scalable. Their insights underscore the instrumental role that storytelling and collaboration play in fostering inclusive and equitable spaces and narratives, with the session culminating in action steps and resources to support your organization in putting the learnings into practice. The keynote will be held on Zoom (passcode 305718).
