ATIXA Resource Spotlight

Sexual Misconduct Critical Issues Training for Boards
Presented by Brett Sokolow, Scott Lewis, Saundra Schuster and John Wesley Lowery

Developed in September 2011 shortly following the release of the OCR Dear Colleague Letter, this four-part training focuses on best practices and general competencies for campus hearing boards and sexual misconduct training. Whether you have a conduct board, administrative hearing model, or use a separate board for sexual misconduct, our modules offer developmental, educational tools rather than legalistic constructs and concepts.

  • Module One: Generalized Hearing Board Competencies
  • Module Two: Title IX-based Competencies for Boards
  • Module Three: The NCHERM Policy Analytic
  • Module Four: The Path to Good Decision-Making

Click here for information on purchasing this four-part training.

ATIXA Tip of the Week

OCR and “Proactive Investigations” 2009-2012

Over the last four years, OCR’s actions indicate that it is willing to do more than sit idly by and wait for complaints to come to them. OCR engages schools and colleges in one of three ways: 1 – OCR receives a complaint; 2 - OCR provides technical assistance at the request of the school or college; and 3 - OCR launches its own proactive investigation even without a complaint. To learn more about proactive investigations from OCR and to read the submitted report, view this week's Tip of the Week.
