From the Pastor's Desk:

Dear church,

Advent greetings! After the leaves finally fell, we were welcomed with several inches of snow. The season has truly changed and we prepare for our own change in church season.

It has been another month of Acacia Park warmly welcoming me and my family into congregational life. I shared the idea of an impromptu meal project and the next day, many of you showed up with donations and helping hands. Together, we prepared over 50 meal bags and ran out in about two weeks. We received an outpouring of messages, ones asking if it was really true that we were giving away food with no strings attached. Others shared their thanks and gratitude for APLC’s service to the community. I have quickly learned that one of APLC’s greatest strengths is response to the community and I hope to continue this project on a monthly basis.

This past month also included the annual Soup & Fall Bingo fundraiser and the ThanksForGiving luncheon. It was really a treat to experience our bingo caller’s emcee skills and to see friends and family gathering over a meal. And Leo and Mia are always so excited to participate in the children’s message during service.

In the season notoriously known for being so busy (yet we are supposed to slow down), I hope that you consider coming to an upcoming APLC event as a way to find connection and restoration during this time of year.

With blessings,

Pastor Tom
