ACTION PACT ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP FOR
INNOVATIVE LIVING DEVELOPMENT
$60 Million Project to Integrate Continuum of Care for
Healthy Living Community in Liberty, Missouri
MANHATTAN, Kan. - Action Pact, a Manhattan, Kan. based company internationally known for innovations in senior living, announces a landmark partnership with Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO (just 15 miles north of downtown Kansas City, MO), and Healthy Living Centers of America to build the nation's first healthy living community specifically designed to integrate primary, acute and post-acute healthcare services within an intergenerational living community.
The $60 million project further establishes Action Pact as a national leader in healthcare innovation and will redefine the future of senior living. The development, on the campus of Liberty Hospital, will advance new models of care, spanning inpatient and outpatient services, and focus on prevention and management of chronic conditions instead of traditional, reactive and episodic acute care. The partnership between the three organizations also brings impactful economic development and employment opportunities to the City of Liberty.
The project will be anchored by a healthy living center designed to serve as the hub for healthcare integration. Designed as a village on the campus of Liberty Hospital, the development will be both mixed-use and pedestrian-oriented, and will include restaurants, retail, medical and traditional office space, a short-term stay recovery hotel, assisted living and independent living. It will also include homes for people of all ages.
"We are honored to be in partnership with Liberty Hospital. The partnership will produce the next generation of senior living," Action Pact CEO Steve Shields said. Action Pact will co-own, design, develop and operate the project with Liberty Hospital and Healthy Living Centers of America.
The first phase of the project is anticipated to open by the summer of 2016, and will include:
- A healthy living center (65,000 square feet)
- Restaurants and retail venues
- 40 assisted living residences
- 40 memory support residences
- A short-term stay recovery hotel with 40 guest suites
- 20 residences for those needing skilled nursing and long-term care
Future phases will include primary housing, housing for healthcare professionals, a variety of independent and active adult living opportunities, as well as additional office, medical and retail uses.
