Scripture
Nehemiah 2:1-18

This Sunday is graduation Sunday.  We will celebrate those who have finished one course of work and will soon begin another.  For some, it is high school and they are preparing for whatever may come next whether it is college, a break, or a tech school of some kind.  For some it is graduation from college and what comes next is a career or even more schooling as they move into graduate school.  For still others it is the completion of their course work and are now moving into a career.  It is a time of celebration, no matter the accomplishment.  It is a rite of passage, a time of transition, a time of looking ahead and celebrating what lay behind.  This Sunday I'll deal with both.  We'll be examining a small book titled "20,000 Days."  It helps us remember where we've been.  More importantly it helps us examine what lay ahead and how to set goals, celebrate accomplishments and include God in all of it.  Jesus utilized his days better than anyone.  He gives us a Godly example of just what to do.  To prepare, please read Nehemiah 2: 1 - 18.

Jamaa Letu Orphange
TONIGHT - June 2, 7:00pm
TONIGHT Claudine (Blessing) Kasongo will be speaking at Aldersgate on June 2 at 7pm in Friendship Hall.  She is the first person in the Jamaa Letu orphanage to graduate from college.  Jamaa Letuu located in the
Congo was sponsored by our church Conference and our church  has s upported it with Outreach funds for many years.  Claudine will be telling us about her life and the obstacles she has overcom e.  She will also tell us how  she is currently using her degree.    Come and learn the wonderful good your tithes and our church apportionments are doing in the world.

Super Weekend at Lazy F
Thank you to the intrepid workers who battled the holiday traffic to work at Lazy F.  The amount of work that was completed is amazing.  New signs, concrete poured, roofs repaired,  shelves installed,  rocks removed, wood shed built, envelopes stuffed, trails cleared, stairs made, clothing sorted and delivered to the Ellensburg Clothing Bank and more that I may have missed!  75 people from Aldersgate from age 4 up worked together to ready Lazy F for this summer and many years to come!   Thank YOU!!!!

Kitchen Update
Last Tuesday Rich Detering, Ted Snyder and Jon Tucker completed a final walk through of the kitchen with the contractor. The kitchen contract tasks have been completed.  While there are some concerns beyond the contract, they fall within the Kitchen Team's capability to resolve. The Kitchen Team is to be commended for their collection and integration of the needs and desires expressed by you our Aldersgate church community that became our "Vision". Our leadership must be commended for recognizing the "need" and having the courage to act with faith and trust to enable the team to bring this to fruition. This has been a substantial step in enhancing the capabilities of Aldersgate to meet our mission and fellowship needs for the future.  Thank you for your patience, faith and support of this project and the team's execution of it.

Confirmation Update
We are heading into the last week of Confirmation and the congregation  should be very proud of the level of conversations this class has had, their genuine kind hearts, and the respectful and compassionate ways they listened and communicated their understanding of Jesus' teaching.  Please hold these young men and women in your minds and hearts.

Please join us for a  reception to celebrate our Confirmation Class of 2016 between services on June 12th.  The youth will be confirmed during first service and introduced at the second service with a reception in their honor between services.
