We started the week with the Blueprint for Maryland's Future (Kirwan) hearings in the Joint Committee room with the House and Senate Committees. Our first meeting ran for six and a half hours and I spent the majority of the week in additional hearings and committee meetings. I have been spending most of my time, when not hearing other bills, amending the Blueprint and discussing possible changes. I am now seeing it in my dreams! I am not able to answer all of the e-mails we have received personally (we received over 5,000 e-mails this weekend alone) so I have composed a response to the most common questions regarding the Blueprint which you can find here: Blueprint FAQ I will also be hosting a Town Hall to specifically to discuss Education, Crime and funding alternatives for the Blueprint on March 8th at the Cockeysville Library from 2:00-4:00pm.
On Wednesday, both of my bills HB396 Early Childhood Screening for Developmental Disabilities and HB754 High School Graduation Requirements for Students in Foster Care or Homeless Youth were heard in front of the Ways & Means Committee. You can listen to the testimony for HB396 here: HB396 To view the testimony for HB754, click here: HB754
