The Annie Malone Nurturing Parenting Program is thriving with the addition of two new Parent Advocates supported with funding from ARCHS. The purpose of the Parent Advocate Program is to equip parents with knowledge that promotes healthy decision making, self-presentation, expression of needs, and effective communication. The program is growing thanks to robust program outreach, community partner presentations, and referrals. To date, 32 families have been served in the program (25) females, (7) males, in St. Louis City and County. The majority of participants report a household income of less than $10,000 annually. Here are some program highlights:
* 80% of parents served participated in court-ordered services.
* 65% of parents showed improvement by identifying and learning new coping and stress management skills.
* 75% maintained or gained employment.
* 70% gained housing and maintained safe housing.
* 85% of parents served reported improvement in their personal well-being.
* 100% of parents gained access to community resources and linkage.
