CORONAVIRUS HOT MEAL DISTRIBUTION CAMPAIGN
Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen, the largest soup kitchen in New York State, has launched a coronavirus hot meal distribution campaign that aims to connect New Yorkers who lack reliable access to sufficient quantities of nutritious food with already-prepared hot meals. The campaign is inspired by national emergency food response efforts during the last two decades of natural disasters. By partnering with local culinary figures who have contributed their time and talent to relief efforts after Hurricane Sandy, Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen will be able to continue serving hot meals to New Yorkers who have come to rely on the soup kitchen for sustenance, while also expanding to feed and sustain residents who will increasingly feel financial constraints from business closures and cut-backs.
LIFE AT HOLY APOSTLES SOUP KITCHEN
Here is a quick look at just how the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen programs continued to meet the challenges presented as we proceeded under COVID-19 restrictions:

  1. From July 20 through July 26, we served 4,063 grab and go meals onsite and prepared 23,932 bagged lunches and pantry bags for total of 27,995 meals. The serving and preparation of which was made possible by the 63 volunteers who donated 128 hours of service. The Social Services volunteers were not available.

We’ll provide another update next week on the activities of New York City’s largest Emergency Feeding Program. Your support is invaluable to all that we do.
