Bowling Green Celebrates Public Power Week, Oct 5th-11th

“Bowling Green, like the other 2,000 municipally owned utilities across the nation, is working with one purpose: powering a strong community.,” said Brian O’Connell, Director of Public Infrastructure/Utilities Director. “We go to work each day with a sharp focus on our customers. Since we operate right here in Bowling Green and serve our friends and neighbors, we care a great deal about things like customer service, competitive and affordable electric rates, and providing the most reliable service possible," he said.

Follow us on social media as we celebrate the week and tell us what local ownership means to you.

Today, Bowling Green Electric Division owns and operates a 69kV transmission system with six substations and a 12.5kV distribution system providing service to 14,976 customers and has 27 dedicated and hard-working employees. The Electric Division has received multiple awards including the APPA Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3), Excellence in Reliability, and Smart Energy Provider.

We're teaming up with National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) to promote this year’s Fire Prevention Week, October 5-11, Charge Into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home. Help us spread the word about making smart choices when it comes to buying, charging, and recycling lithium-ion batteries—because the wrong move can lead to a fire. Buy only listed products. Charge devices safely. Recycle batteries responsibly.
