Dear Bayside Families,
Happy New Year! We hope you all had a restful break and that everyone is staying healthy. We look forward to our continued work together to support all of our students in this new year.
Given Wednesday’s historic events in our nation’s capital, some members of our school community (students, families, staff) might still be grappling with emotions as we all try to make sense of what occured. Please know that we are here to support you. Feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher or our school office team for support. Our school counselors and support staff will try our best to assist any member of our community.
Below are some resources to help cope with the events in an educational manner.
Sincerely,
John Cosmos

Please see the SMFC Ed Foundation flyer about the upcoming 2021 Readathon. The event will run from January 22nd - February 5th and will feature community members reading and reviewing culturally relevant books to open the eyes, hearts, and minds of our students. An invitation to activate student fundraising pages through 99Pledges will be sent a week before kick-off from [email protected]. That link will also be available at smfcedfund.org/readathon which is where kids can also access details about the kick-off event, minute tracker, and enjoy read-alouds and book reviews. Our goal is to raise an average of $25 per student. All donations will continue to support Tk-5 Music for Minors, distance learning, ELA/ELD, and science curriculum.
