Mock Election 2020
Mr. Spina’s 8th Grade 1st and 7th Period Classes
Congratulations to the 1st and 7th period classes for conducting successful mock elections. The mock elections were modeled after the California Student Mock Election state program. This is a curriculum that is conducted in California schools during general elections. After careful research and studying of the eleven propositions and presidential candidates and their running mates on the ballots, students successfully voted. I am so excited to share that the 8th grader students were really engaged during the studying and researching in the lead up to the elections. Students weighed the issues, did some outside research, and carefully thought about their choices relating to the eleven propositions and presidential candidates and their running mates. The result are:
1st Period:
Joseph Biden/Kamala Harris – 15 votes
Donald Trump/Michael Pence – 4 votes
Howie Hawkins/Angela Nicole Walker – 1 vote
