Don't miss the Local Author Book Fair at the Bethlehem Public Library this Sunday, September 30! This event will celebrate and support writers in our area and will  feature a keynote address from audiobook narrator George Guidall at 1pm. A book fair will follow from 2-4pm  where participants will be able to browse works for sale and chat with the authors.

Attend the October 3 meeting of Bethlehem Business Women for an evening filled with friendship, dinner, and a program on Women's Health. The meeting will be held at Normanside; 6pm check-in for 6:30pm meeting. $26 includes dinner and program, click here to RSVP by 9/28.

You're invited to join Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy for a Night Under the Stars! MHLC's  annual party raises the funds that sustain our vital conservation efforts. We promise an evening to remember at the New York State Museum, as we unveil our most significant conservation effort in 26 years. Free Movement Pilates will be offering two new sessions with Jennifer Nizer, PT. School Aged Pilates Mat will begin October 6. This 6-week session is $95, Saturday mornings (9am or 9:30am classes). Teen Pilates Mat will begin October 3. This 6-week session is $95, Wednesday afternoons from 4-4:45pm. And this Sunday the studio presents Yin Meditation with  Lauren Strait (12-1:30pm, $30) The practice of Yin Yoga is designed as a pathway into your connective tissue. Much of our life experiences - trauma, loss, heartbreak, etc. - are stored in our bodies - particularly in our connective tissue resulting in tightness, restriction, fascial buildup, etc. Yin is so powerful because it offers us the safe space, by holding supported postures close to the ground for an extended length of time to release physical limitation, and open the door to emotional freedom. Capital District Regional Planning Commission Technical Assistance Grants (TAG)
Deadline Sept 2018

The Preservation League of New York State offers Technical Assistance Grants (TAG) of up to $3,000 to not-for-profit arts and cultural groups and municipalities managing historic sites, museums, arts facilities and other culturally important institutions. Grants support technical studies carried out by preservation and design professionals. 
TAG is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. For more information, click here.

The BC Middle School garden thrived this summer thanks to the hard work of students like Jaina and Nick. Mark Warford - the force of nature behind the garden - expects that by the end of the year it will have produced more than 1,000 pounds of vegetables for the food pantry in addition to food for the school cafeteria and sale at the Delmar Farmers Market.
Fantastic teamwork!

The Fall Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collections for the Town of Bethlehem will take place on Saturday, September 29, from 8am-1pm. Please see the website calendar for important instructions including a list of acceptable items.  Questions about Town Recycling? On September 30, from 2-4pm, the Bethlehem Historical Association Museum will host another "pop up" centering on the concept of "then and now." Two former educators will display artifacts from long ago and ask visitors to match these items with artifacts/pictures of current comparable items.  The museum is located at the Cedar Hill Schoolhouse, 1003 River Road, Selkirk.  On Thursday, October 4, they will present Beer, Brewers and Beverwyck - A Beer and Pretzels Fundraising Event.  Beer was a vital part of our local history - learn more and  enjoy a cold brew at the same time. The Tuesday Delmar Farmers Market is open for the season on Tuesdays, 2:30-6pm, at  Delmar First United Methodist Church , 428 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar. Stop by for the first of the season produce and farm fresh items. 

The Saturday Delmar Farmers Market  is open for the season on Saturdays, 9am-1pm at the Bethlehem Middle School on Kenwood Avenue.  Visit the website for details. 

On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays between 10 AM and 2 PM, the Town of Bethlehem accepts donations for Habitat ReStore of the Capital District of slightly used furnishings, cabinets, and other building materials at the Town of Bethlehem Transfer Station, 136 Rupert Rd, Selkirk, NY.
