The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce is working on our
Annual Holiday Shopping Card Promotion for November 24 (Small Business Saturday)
through December 31, 2018.  The program is a continuation of our active
Buy Local Initiative and is a way to encourage the Bethlehem community
to support local businesses during the holiday shopping season before making
trips to area malls and Black Friday sales.

Participation is open to
Member and Non-Member businesses.


10,000 cards are printed in November and distributed:
* 2018 Bethlehem Turkey Trot: As a sponsor, the Chamber distributes cards to
approximately 3,000 participants during Pre-Registration
* Spotlight Newspaper: Chamber inserts Holiday Cards into 5,000+ papers
(11/21/18 edition) distributed by mail and on newsstands in town.
* Community locations: Bethlehem Town Hall, Bethlehem Public Library, local post offices, Bethlehem Chamber office, Saturday and Tuesday Farmers Markets
* Member and Participating Businesses: Cards are given to member and participating
businesses to distribute to customers


Advertising is purchased locally to make the
community  aware of the program.


Deadline to participate is Friday, October 26.

That means when you throw something in the trash, it is available to anyone willing to overlook the smells of your trash can! Sunmark Federal Credit Union is hosting a Shred Day on Saturday, October 20, from 11am-1pm at their Latham branch ( 1187 Troy Schenectady Road). Safely destroy any personal information, such as old files and financial records, at no cost to you. Examples of items to shred include tax information & returns, bank statements and cancelled checks, ATM receipts, and paycheck stubs.

The next  Monday Night Yoga "Devotion in Motion"  w/ Samantha Jo Wungland will begind October 15. 6-7:15pm, $96 for 8-weeks or $15 per drop-in.  Devotion in Motion is a sacred journey to stoke the heart fire through discussion of the ancient spiritual essence of Bhakti Yoga (devotion), mantra, conscious breath, opening postures, and poetic movement. Want to learn more about the opioid epidemic? Join the Delmar First United Methodist Church for a 6- week community program. Explore the epidemic and gain an understanding  about how it touches so many lives in our families and community. The first 90-minute program begins on October 14 at 6pm and the Five Paths to Opioid Dependence will be discussed. View the flyer for details. Swifty's Restaurant & Pub  has teamed up with  To Life!  to raise money for breast cancer! They are selling  Swifty's Breast Cancer Awareness t-shirts  for $12 each, and $3 for every shirt sold will be donated to To Life!. Order forms are available at the restaurant.

Patriot Flight is presenting their  3rd Annual Essay Contest. It is open to ALL High School students, and two winners will receive a 1-day, all expense paid trip to the Memorials in Washington DC with veterans from WWII, Korean War and Vietnam War. See attached flyer for details.
