We had fantastic weather Monday for our 33rd Annual Golf Outing, hosted
by Normanside. The day was filled with good food, golf, contests and lots
of  raffle prizes! Johnny B's Glenmont Diner was the winning foursome

Bethlehem will be holding a First Night Celebration to ring in the New Year! A family friendly and fun event, First Night will be held on New Year's Eve, Sunday, December 31st.
 
The celebration will begin with fireworks at the Four Corners ,
followed by entertainment and activities.

What is the CarFit Program? It's a FREE, interactive and  educational program designed to improve older driver safety. Trained volunteers provide information to ensure the safest "fit" for older drivers and their vehicles.  This event is scheduled to take place in the Bethlehem YMCA's back parking lot on Tuesday, October 2 Appointments are scheduled in half hour blocks from 9a,-12:30pm. This  September 28 (corrected date)  event will be held at  1pm  at the  Bethlehem Public Library

Don't miss the  Slingerland Vault Fundraiser at Garden Bistro 24 The Friends of the Slingerland Family Burial Vault, headed by the Bethlehem Town Historian, was formed late last year to facilitate the restoration and preservation of this historic property which is part of the Slingerland Historic District. The Slingerlands Garden Bistro 24 is donating  15% of all food  and beverage sales (eat in or take-out) from 3pm to closing on Tuesday, September 25. Reservations are strongly recommended:  518.439.3832.  The menu for the fundraiser offers a unique 3-course meal for $24, featuring  ingredients from local farms including vegetables from the Bethlehem Central Middle School Garden Club (ordering from the main menu also qualifies for the fundraiser).

Capital District Regional Planning Commission Technical Assistance Grants (TAG)
Deadline Sept 2018

The Preservation League of New York State offers Technical Assistance Grants (TAG) of up to $3,000 to not-for-profit arts and cultural groups and municipalities managing historic sites, museums, arts facilities and other culturally important institutions. Grants support technical studies carried out by preservation and design professionals. 
TAG is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. For more information, click here.

The Fall Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collections for the Town of Bethlehem will take place on Saturday, September 29, from 8am-1pm. Please see the website calendar for important instructions including a list of acceptable items.  Questions about Town Recycling? On Thursday evening, September 20, the Bethlehem Historical Association presents Mohicans in Bethlehem History and Today, a talk by Bonnie Hartley, Tribal Historic Preservation Officer of the Stockbridge Munsee Community.  Mohican people are the indigenous people of the Mahicannituck, the waters that are never still, now known as the Hudson River. The presentation will discuss Mohican history in the Bethlehem area including sharing local artifacts.  The talk will be held at the Cedar Hill Schoolhouse, 1003 River Road Selkirk. Doors open at 6:30, the talk will begin at 7pm, and will be followed by refreshments. All welcome at this free event!

The Tuesday Delmar Farmers Market is open for the season on Tuesdays, 2:30-6pm, at  Delmar First United Methodist Church , 428 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar. Stop by for the first of the season produce and farm fresh items. 

The Saturday Delmar Farmers Market  is open for the season on Saturdays, 9am-1pm at the Bethlehem Middle School on Kenwood Avenue.  Visit the website for details.
