What's Happening in Yellowstone Country | |
An eagle eye view of some fishy country.

Hello, I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I think all of us here at the shop are still pretty stuffed from eating all that turkey. We did have a little bit of snow show up on Thanksgiving which was nice to see and looking ahead at this weekend we have a good bit more coming. So it's looking like winter may show up rather quickly now. There's been more ice on Hebgen everyday and it won't be long before it's frozen solid. It might be too soon to sing it but it's beginning to look a lot like...
This week in our Christmas Gift Ideas section there is one heck of a deal on some of our premium fly rods as well as some great gear at disounted pricing featured. I also added in a few of our favorite accessories for those looking to upgrade some gear or for those in need of some cool gift ideas. The Sale Page still has a bunch of awesome items as well, everything from flies to waders at reduced prices!
If you're looking for the "Ultimate Christmas Gift" we have received our dates and locations for our 2024 Horse Pack Trips! We will be taking trips into both Greybull and Slough this year, which is super neat. More information will be down below for those interested in fishing the backcountry with Blue Ribbon Flies!
As always give us a call at the shop, swing in or shoot us an email if you have any questions!

Weekly fishing report: It's been pretty darn cold but the temps haven't kept everyone off the water. There's been a few brave souls fishing anytime one of us have drove by the river. We definitely wouldn't be out there early but if you're looking for a great way to spend an afternoon it's hard to beat the solitude winter fishing can offer. Temperatures this weekend look to be hovering just above freezing with a reasonable wind forecast. Grab a few #18 Crystal Dips and Zebra Midges, some handwarmers along with a thermos of your favorite soup then hit the river. Both the Gallatin and the Madison should continue to fish well, especially during the afternoon hours.
