May 2017
The month of May is all about making memories - from Commencement ceremonies for our remarkable students to Alumni Weekend for those who wish to reminisce on their own milestones at BUSM.
The celebrating began early in the month with hundreds of alumni returning to Boston for a weekend on the Medical Campus and at the W Boston Hotel. We honored our Distinguished Alumni Award recipients and those celebrating their 50th reunion at a ceremonial luncheon, took alumni on tours guided by current students and recent grads, and so much more. Photos from all of the happenings, including the Class Dinners, can be found on our BUSM Alumni Facebook page. Photos are a great way to relive the memories, so we hope you take a look.
We had back-to-back Commencement exercises for our MD/PhD and GMS students, which honored their accomplishments and highlighted some of the key takeaways their peers and mentors hope will follow them in the next stage of their journey. In addressing their classes, student speakers urged one another to remember where they came from and to hold close the lessons they've learned from one another.
I hope that you have your own lasting memories that keep you tied to the School of Medicine and inspire you to keep in touch. If you haven't already done so, you can sign up to be an E-Mentor for our students or give back in another way that is meaningful to you. Together, we can continue to create positive experiences and memories for our current students.
Until next month,
