BUSM community members have a reputation for going above and beyond in all that they do. Participation and the generosity displayed in this year's annual
BU Giving Day were no exception. Not only did the university as an institution surpass many goals, the School of Medicine broke some of its own records as well. Together, 191 donors, comprised of alumni, parents, students, faculty, and staff, raised nearly $70,000 in 24 hours. That's amazing!
Speaking of accomplishments, I'd like to highlight some of the incredible strides made by our students. Whether spearheading a peer-to-peer
health education program for girls in India or competing against teams of experienced academic researchers and physician scientists in the
NEJM Major International Data Challenge, our students continue to make strides in a way that brings much honor to the School. You can read their stories, along with the biographies of four students chosen as
Massachusetts Medical Society Scholars, below.
For those who are in a reunion year, what better way to reminisce on your own triumphs and memories at BUSM than to attend
Alumni Weekend 2017? It's hard to believe, but this landmark event is right around the corner! We have quite the agenda planned, from the Distinguished Alumni Awards Ceremony and Luncheon to our Campus Experience, which will showcase new learning tools and innovative curricula. The class dinner on Saturday, May 6 is a must, too!
Register here so you don't miss out. Even if it's not your reunion year, you can watch for photos and recaps post-event.
If you have a recent accomplishment you'd like to share with the office, we would love to read it through our
online form.
Warm regards,
