Bump Draft
Greetings!

Brad and I would like to thank you once again for your support and well-wishes in 2011. Whether you donated to our membership program, made a personal or corporate donation for our Race to Recovery program, participated in our Memorial Day fund raiser, or even just helped us to spread the word about the foundation, you contributed to the growth of CFF in its first full year.

I'm pleased to announce in 2012, we will once again honor our nation's heroes by providing them with a three-day VIP race track event with our Race to Recovery program. We will host R2R events at Richmond International Raceway (April 27-29), Talladega Superspeedway (May 5-7), Charlotte Motor Speedway (May 19-20), Michigan International Speedway (June 16-18) and Bristol Motor Speedway (August 22-25). We will also donate money to like-minded non-profit organizations through our CFF Grant Program..

Our Memorial Day fund raiser is back Monday, May 28 at Penske Racing South and will once again feature social bike rides (100k, 50k and 20k) in the morning, a Celebrity Trike Challenge and driver autograph session in the afternoon and a CFF Dinner and Memorabilia auction that evening. Our theme this year is "Remembering our Heroes" and we hope to have a large contingent of military and first-responders in attendance. We hope to see you all there.

Last, but certainly not least, we'd like to announce that all 2011 memberships have been extended through 2012. You will soon receive your updated membership package and goodies as a thanks from the CFF team for supporting us in our first year. In the coming weeks, we are                             also going to allow CFF members to preorder the 1:24-scale
2
012 Race to Recovery Dodge Charger before the general public (die casts will be available in May). It's a sharp-looking car that will look good in your collection!

Respectfully,

Andrea Rosscars
Executive Director

BK, CFF Visit Bristol Motor Speedway

Guns, great fans and birthday cake = a great event!

The folks at Bristol Motor Speedway invited Brad and the Checkered Flag Foundation out Feb. 7 to interact with local military and police officers, fans and media to talk about the upcoming race there.

The August BMS Sprint Cup race champion first had the opportunity to show off his shooting prowess at Shooters Edge Indoor Range and Training Center in Piney Flats, TN. Alongside some Army and Navy vets, and local law enforcement, Brad terrorized targets with several different types of weapons. For him, the fun was in interacting with those who have sacrificed so much for our country.

"Shooting is one of those things I like to do when I get some free time," Keselowski said. "But to be honest, the opportunity to come out here today and stand alongside these guys who have sacrificed so much- it means a lot to me."

The trip to Tennessee also included a stop at the local Food City in Piney Flats where Brad signed autographs for fans, and then a stop at Bristol Motor Speedway, where employees lined the front foyer and greeting Brad by singing happy birthday to him in honor of his 28th birthday on Feb. 12.

2011 Race to Recovery Program Recap

BK and honoreesIn 2011, CFF introduced its Race to Recovery program. Working with the Veterans Administration and other military hospitals to select candidates, CFF identifies wounded veterans around the country who have worked hard to persevere beyond their injuries. The idea is to inspire and incentivize those who are working hard to get better with a three-day VIP Race Experience, capped off with a ride along in a Dodge Charger with foundation president Brad Keselowski. Typically, three to six wounded veterans along with one "crew chief," an individual who has had significant impact upon the veteran in his or her recovery process, per market are invited for the three-day experience.  Read More:

In October of 2010, Dustin Humphrey, USMC (ret.) and his wife Jessica joined other wounded service members from Alabama as guests of Brad Keselowski's Checkered Flag Foundation (CFF) for a VIP race weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.

That experience literally changed Humphrey's mission in life. Read more of Dustin's story:
