Well, it's Tony Time again and I don't think anyone is surprised to see that "Hamilton" is in the lead with 16 nominations!  I can proudly say I was able to run several bus trips over the past season to see this amazing production and I feel that everyone who was able to catch it loved it and want to know when I'm running one again so they can bring friends.  My waiting list is a mile long!  Sad to say, it's not looking good!  I will keep you posted!

May 22nd

However, second on the Tony list with 10 nominations  is "Shuffle Along" with Audra McDonald and Billy Porter!  I do have a few seats left for this one on my May 22nd trip.  While in NY last week I actually bought the last four seats available for this date.  It's a real sellout probably because Audra is only staying with it until the summer.

There is still room on my May 22nd bus once I sell all the Shuffle Along seats so if there's something else you would like to see let me know and I'll see what I can do to get them for you.

June 4th

On June 4th I have a deal of all deals!  About 10 tickets are still available to see "Wicked" for just $175 including transportation!  If you want to add dinner at Ellen's Stardust Diner it will be $205.  If you've never experienced Ellen's it's truly a hoot!  This is where all the waiters and waitresses are aspiring Broadway Stars and believe me when I say the talent in there is amazing!  It's a great place to take kids and very entertaining for adults as well.  If you are looking for a quiet dinner for two or a place to catch up with the girls, I'd say forget it.  It's loud, it's crazy and loads of fun!  It's a great opportunity when you come with me.  You'll notice the line is around the corner and there are no reservations.  Come with me and I get you in as a group!

PayPal Information

In an effort to make things easier, payments with a credit card on line will now be the same amount as paying by check.  Once you pay through pay pal on line, you'll get a confirmation through email with the details of the trip within a day or two.  No need to have a pay pal account yourself, just google pay pal and follow instructions using carol@broadwaywithcarol.com as the payee.   You'll need to note the show, date and number of tickets.  It's safe, secure and easy to use.

As always, the prices quoted include transportation from Cardinal O'Hara in Springfield as well as your tickets to the show.  All tickets as well as a map of the city are handed out as you board the bus in the morning. Give me a call if you'd like me to plan a trip for you from any location.  You will need a minimum of 35 people to make this happen!

I've chosen shows that I feel are the best Broadway has to offer but please let me know if there is something not listed that you would like to see or the date doesn't work.  I'll be happy to get them for you.

I'm hoping to see you on my big bus real soon!

She Loves Me!  Eight Tony Nominations

Carol's Review

I just fell in love with an old fashion Broadway Show!  That's really not like me.  As a rule, I'm just not into the old revivals.   I've heard the music  "Good Morning, Good Day", "Vanilla Ice Cream", "She Loves Me", "Dear Friend" etc. etc.  But Somehow in all these years I've never actually seen the show.  So I, unenthusiastically, got myself a ticket and went to see it just because it was playing and I wanted to see Laura Benanti and Zachary Levi whom I adore.  What a surprise!  No expense was spared on the magnificent, elaborate set! Or the "to die for" costumes.  Both designers got a well deserved Tony nod.  Not only were Laura and Zachary amazing in their roles of  Amalia Balash and Georg Nowack, but  Jane Krakowski as Ilona Ritter were amazing and all three have a Tony nomination to prove it.  Peter Bartlett as the hysterical waiter might not have a Tony nomination, but he sure had the crowd in the palm of his hand! I was not one bit surprised to find "She Loves Me" had received 8 Tony nominations, the third in the line with Hamilton receiving 16 and Shuffle Along with 10.  "She Loves Me" is truly a lovely, lively performance you don't want to miss on Broadway this year!

Hoping to see you all real soon!  I'll be working on my Fall Schedule in the next few months.  Bette Midler is coming with "Hello Dolly", Josh Groban in "The Great Comet", Christian Borle in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", "Cats" will be returning and who knows what other treasurers are awaiting us on the Great White Way!   So, call your friends and hop on my bus and let me do the work!
Sincerely,
