Congratulations Class of 2020!
Graduation this year was held on campus on May 29, 2020 due to special circumstances that called for smaller gatherings. Plans were in place for ceremonies that could have been conducted either in the stadium or the gym, and inclement weather moved them inside. Each graduate was accompanied by his or her parents or family members in what turned out to be a special, personal, and memorable day. Henry Campbell is greeted by Mr. Telford above, as his parents Trey and Barbara Campbell snap a photo. Henry will attend The Ohio State University.
Graduation kicked off with the homeroom which included Chloe Allen, who was accompanied by her parents Natalie and Hugh Allen. Chloe will attend Spellman College.
Valedictorian Mae Levin received her diploma cover from Principal Telford. Mae will attend the University of Notre Dame, and was accompained by her parents Melissa and Ron Levin.
Gavin Zinkil moves his tassle to conclude the 2020 graduation ceremonies. Gavin was accompained by his parents Trish and Brian Zinkil and will attend East Carolina University.
Graduation plans included extra measures to help ensure the health and safety of all attendees, and to comply with social distancing orders in effect. After each graduate crossed the stage, they joined their parents in a designated area to watch the other graduates in their homeroom. After the entire the entire homeroom had walked across the stage, they were declared graduates and then departed the school with family.
Each graduate was allotted two tickets for parents or immediate family members to attend and escort them to the ceremony and stage. Seventeen private graduation ceremonies by homeroom were held over nearly seven hours.
The CCHS administrators - Assistant Principal Angela Montague, Principal Kurt Telford, Assistant Principal Maria Leahy and Dean of Students Randy Belk paused for a mask-free photo following graduation.
Faculty members Mr. Jeremy Kuhn and Dr. Lincoln Sigwald helped to welcome and announce the graduates of the Class of 2020 as they crossed the stage. Parents were invited to take photos in front of the stage.
