Northern Manhattan Community Comes Together for Holiday to Give Out 600 Turkeys

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Northern Manhattan's elected officials and several local businesses partnered in distributing 600 turkeys to families in need. The jam-packed event at Negro Claro brought families from around the district together on a chilly Monday afternoon in a demonstration of goodwill and generosity. This event will ensure that 600 families can have a great dinner on Thanksgiving Day, hopefully with their families and loved ones around them.

Organized by Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez, State Senator Adriano Espaillat and Assembly Member Rosa, the event could not be possible without the gracious gifts of 600 turkeys from the National Supermarkets Association, Fairway Supermarkets, and the Washington Heights Business Improvement District. If we can take away anything from this joyous time of celebration it is that we must come together and become catalysts for a better and brighter New York City in support of those in need.

As the holiday season kicks off, please remember those who are less fortunate this year. From our office to your friends and family in the Northern Manhattan community and beyond, have a Happy Thanksgiving!
