Five Individuals Selected to Join CPPA Junior Directors Program

The California Pork Producers Association (CPPA) is proud to announce the selection of five outstanding young leaders to serve on the CPPA Junior Director Board. These individuals represent the next generation of agricultural advocates and will play a vital role in promoting California’s pork industry while gaining valuable leadership experience.


The newly selected Junior Directors are:

  • Madelynn Gardner, San Miguel, CA
  • Guage Goehring, Acampo, CA
  • Weston Merriman, Alpine, CA
  • Morissa Ralls, Patterson, CA
  • Gracie Schnoor, Chowchilla, CA


These five will join the current set of Junior Directors who are entering their second year of service: Charli Auldridge, Lillie Benafield, Harlie Deschaine, Cooper Dougherty, Jenna Freitas, Diego Loftin, Kallie Loogman, Riley Piehl, Parker Simon, Adeline Pombo, and Gracie Yost. Together, this team brings a diverse mix of backgrounds, experiences, and enthusiasm to CPPA’s youth leadership efforts.

California Pork + California Cling Peach Board: A Fresh Take on Summer Flavors

California Pork partnered up with Parkers Plate and the California Cling Peach Board California Cling Peach Board for a delicious feature on Kron4’s Live in the Bay, showcasing how pork and canned peaches make the perfect pair. This summer cooking segment highlighted easy, flavorful recipes using high-quality, affordable ingredients.


Parker featured recipes including a Sticky Peach Glazed Pork Tenderloin, Cripsy Pork Cutlet with Sweet Corn and Tomato Salad and an Instant Pot Spicy Pulled Pork Sliders with California Cling Peaches.


From savory pork dishes brightened with the natural sweetness of cling peaches, to tips for creating elegant spreads without breaking the bank, the collaboration celebrated two of our state’s nutritious, versatile and flavor packed ingredients.

Golden Opportunity Scholarships Named in Tulare

The California Pork Producers Association (CPPA) proudly announced the recipients of the Golden Opportunity Scholarships at the 2025 California Youth Ag Expo (CYAE). This scholarship program was created to recognize and support outstanding youth who are committed to the future of California’s swine and agriculture industries. Selected recipients demonstrated strong leadership, a passion for animal agriculture, and a clear vision for their continued involvement in the pork industry.


Congratulations to the following 2025 Golden Opportunity Scholarship Recipients:

  • Cayden Ewing – Chico State
  • Bryce Eames – Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo
  • Emma Lane – Fresno State University
  • Jake Lewis – Modesto Junior College

Certified California Bred Program has Success at CYAE

CPPA promoted the Certified California Bred Program at the California Youth Ag Expo (CYAE) in Tulare last month continue showcasing their commitment to supporting California breeders and highlighting youth exhibition success. Event officials and CPPA representatives presented the Certified California Bred banners, hats and recognition to youth exhibitors and their breeders. Breed champion and reserve champions will also receive premium checks for their achievements.


Bristol Correia was named the Grand Champion Certified California Bred Barrow with her Champion York. Kallie Loogman's Champion Light Cross bred by Kallie Loogman herself was named Reserve Grand Champion Certified California Bred Barrow.
