Grace Harkrader Selected as Bill Silveira Scholarship Recipient

Grace Harkrader was selected as this year’s William “Bill” Silveira Scholarship recipient for her exceptional commitment to California’s swine industry and her clear vision for giving back to the next generation. From helping grow her family’s small swine operation to serving as Head Student Manager of the Modesto Junior College Swine Unit, a past CPPA and NJSA Junior Director, Grace has demonstrated the work ethic, leadership, and hands-on experience this scholarship was created to honor. Now studying Animal Science at Kansas State University, she remains deeply rooted in California agriculture and plans to return home to teach and continue supporting youth in the swine community.

Survey Opportunity: Gracie Yost Proposition 12 Survey

My name is Gracie Yost I am a member of the Junior Pork Board and a senior at Gridley High School. I am completing a statistics and agriscience research project on consumer preferences for Prop 12 certified pork. I’m gathering information through a short survey to learn whether people look for Prop 12 pork when they shop, if it influences their buying choices, and how it affects their view of animal welfare and product quality. Your responses will help me collect real data that I will analyze for my final report. Every completed survey makes the project stronger and supports student research, while also giving valuable insight into how Prop 12 is viewed by consumers in our state. Thank you for taking a few minutes to participate.
