Pastoral Care updates
: Martha Ross is healing following a bad fall ending in a bump on the head, a swollen hip, and about 100 stitches in one leg. Remarkably, she is getting around well and suffered no broken bones. Cathy Childers is part of a clinical trial at UK Hospital which holds the possibility that she will be cancer-free in six weeks. Unfortunately, husband Steve suffered a bad fall while with her and is currently at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington. Please continue to pray for Martha, Cathy, and Steve as they heal.
Budget preparations for 2017 are under way! Please return your pledge card. We'll celebrate the ingathering of pledges on Sunday, Oct. 16, with a parish potluck. Calvary will supply fried chicken. Bring your favorite covered dish!
Schedule changes, next two weeks: Mtr. TJ will be traveling during weekdays for the next two weeks. As a result,
no Wednesday Eucharist until November 2, and her office hours are canceled Oct. 19, 20, and 26.
You are invited
to the wedding of Cheyenne Black & Wade Griffith at 5 PM on Saturday, October 22, at Fairview Baptist Church!
Please make sure to fill out a form for our new
Parish Directory
. These are available in the parish hall and via email from Mtr. TJ (tj.azar@hotmail.com). Please complete a form even if no information has changed.

atch them fly!!
Children may attend Children's Chapel during the Service of the Word, and will be returned to their parents for Holy Communion. Additional learning and activities are offered following the worship service.

Opportunities to Share the Love of Christ
|
In the 2016-17 school year, Calvary's Blessings in a Backpack program hopes to feed 200 children at Crabbe Elementary School, Ashland Independent Schools Head Start, and Ashland Child Development Center on weekends! These are children who qualify for free or reduced-price lunches and who might otherwise go hungry from Friday to Monday. Your support is always needed.
You can also participate by helping to pack the food for children on Wednesdays! Join fellow volunteers this fall on Wednesdays in the parish hall from 5 to 5:45 P.M. on the following dates:
October 19, 26
November 2, 9, 16, 30 (no packing Nov. 23)
December 7, 14 (no packing Dec. 21 and 28)
Do you have a heart for welcoming others?
Share your smile with members and visitors on Sunday mornings and special services by becoming an usher for our worship! The work is easy!
Contact Melissa at 325-2328 or see Louise Taylor after the morning worship service for details.
