☑️ Voters in the Dunkirk, St. Leonard and Lusby areas have been notified by mail about changes to their polling places.


☑️ The candidate filing deadline is Feb. 9 at 9 p.m.


☑️ Sample ballots are scheduled to be mailed April 12.

☑️ The State Board of Elections approved the relocation of one early voting center from Fairview Library to Ward Farm Park. Three early voting sites are available in Calvert County.

The Calvert County Election Board has notified voters in the Dunkirk, St. Leonard and Lusby areas about changes to their polling places. Affected voters can expect to receive notification by mail indicating changes to their polling locations. These mailers will be marked with a fluorescent sticker that reads, "Open immediately, your polling place has changed."

The public comment period is open until Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, on draft articles 18 and 19 of the Calvert County Zoning Ordinance Update. Submit your comments to ZOupdate@calvertcountymd.gov.

Free mulch is available to Calvert residents from the Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division. Stop by Appeal Landfill at 401 Sweetwater Road in Lusby with proof of residency or business location and take home as much as you need.


Pickup hours are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. For more information, contact the Appeal Landfill at 410-326-0210 or learn more online.

Honor a World War II veteran with a memorial brick on the Veterans Patio at the “On Watch” memorial statue in Solomons. The monument commemorates those who served the United States during World War II at the Solomons Amphibious Training Base.


The cost of each brick is $100 and is tax deductible. Gifts made toward the memorial brick campaign are used for maintenance and care of the statue and grounds. Order through our online form.
