Citizens who wish to provide public comment are invited to attend public meetings or can provide comment by dialing in by phone at the published time. Callers will be provided further instruction during the meeting on how to indicate you wish to speak.

We're celebrating ​National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week​! In recognition, the Department of Public Safety and the Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter honor the dedicated people who work to protect animals through shelters and rescue organizations. 

Interested in lending a hand in support? Consider adopting, fostering or visiting the shelter website to contribute toward the shelter's wish list. 
Exciting news! Planning & Zoning announces a new Transferable Development Rights (TDR) Reserve Program which allows citizens to sell and purchase TDRs through the Calvert County Government instead of through private buyer/seller negotiations. The program is set up as a revolving fund to continually purchase TDRs from Agriculture Preservation District owners and sell them to developers.

The Maryland Insurance Administration has opened a Virtual Disaster Center to help citizens with insurance-related issues or questions regarding damage from the severe weather that impacted Maryland over the weekend.

In the Virtual Disaster Center, Maryland residents can ask general insurance questions or meet one-on-one with a Maryland Insurance Administration representative in a private breakout room. The Maryland Insurance Administration can be reached at 410-468-2000 or toll-free at 1-800-492-6116. 
Learn how to manage your diabetes and live a healthier lifestyle! Join us for the Living Well with Diabetes free, six-week workshop series for seniors on Mondays, Nov. 8 through Dec. 13 from 1-4 p.m. at the Southern Pines Senior Center in Lusby. 

Get the support you need while exploring strategies that promote wellbeing and decrease the risk of complications associated with diabetes. Learn simple techniques to manage your symptoms and discover effective ways to talk with your doctor and family about your health.
