Citizens who wish to provide public comment are invited to attend public meetings or can provide comment by dialing in by phone at the published time. To provide dial-in comment, call toll-free 888-475-4499 or 877-853-5257 and enter the Meeting ID 899 4188 8251 and passcode #. Callers will be provided further instruction during the meeting on how to indicate you wish to speak.

The Department of Planning & Zoning is currently preparing draft amendments to the Calvert County Comprehensive Plan regarding town center expansions for the Prince Frederick, Huntingtown, Solomons and Lusby Town Centers. The amendment process is a formal process that will include opportunities for public input.

The Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center is currently closed and will remain closed for annual maintenance through Monday, Sept. 5.


The hall will reopen at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6. 


During the hall closure, both lap and open swim will be available at Kings Landing and Cove Point Pools with modified hours.

Disability affects people of all ages, races, genders and national origin. For people with disabilities and their families, it is important to consider individual circumstances and needs to effectively prepare for emergencies and disasters. 


The Division of Emergency Management maintains a voluntary registry that allows individuals with special needs to self-identify if they may need evacuation assistance. Residents may request to be added to the registry by visiting online or calling 410-535-1600, ext. 2638.

The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter is at capacity and will waive adoption fees for all animals through Aug. 31. Regular adoption procedures still apply.


It’s a great time to visit the shelter to find the perfect companion. With an overabundance of animals at the shelter, we need our community’s support to find these animals happy new homes. Whether folks are looking to adopt, foster or give their time to volunteer, every little bit makes a huge impact.
