Citizens who wish to provide public comment are invited to attend public meetings or can provide comment by dialing in by phone at the published time. To provide dial-in comment, call toll-free 888-475-4499 or 877-853-5257 and enter the Meeting ID 899 4188 8251 and passcode #. Callers will be provided further instruction during the meeting on how to indicate you wish to speak.

In addition to the grand prize of a healthier Chesapeake Bay for all, the annual “Pump for the Bay” contest, run by the Calvert County Environmental Commission, will award one lucky county resident up to $500 in reimbursement for a septic system pump-out or upgrade completed in 2022. 


The contest is open to any Calvert County resident who hires a company to pump out their septic tank or upgrades to a nitrogen-removing tank between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2022. County residents can enter by submitting a copy of their receipt along with a completed entry form before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023. Full details and entry form are available online. 

The Calvert County Commission on Aging and Department of Community Resources, Office on Aging (OOA), are making plans to make Calvert County more “age friendly” for the county’s growing older adult population. 


Residents are invited to participate in an informational session to kick off community discussion on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m. at Calvert Pines Senior Center, located at 450 W. Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick. The event will feature guest speakers, information and resources to offer insight about this important topic. Light refreshments and door prizes will be provided. The BOCC is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Pereira as the county government director of the Department of Technology Services. 


Over his 21-year career, Pereira has overseen and implemented business technology change in the government and private sectors. In his previous role as deputy director for Technology Services, he was responsible for technology budgets and contracts, records management, and implementing new information technology policies, standards and training within Calvert County Government. We look forward to many more years of his service and leadership!

Join Parks & Recreation (P&R) for the 31st Annual Golf Classic Tournament Oct. 7, 2022 at 9 a.m. The entry fee is $80 per person, which includes greens fees, a cart, beverages, prizes and lunch.


Net tournament proceeds benefit the P&R Program Scholarship Fund in memory of the late Therman Gray, a former Parks & Recreation employee who was active in working with the community’s young people. The scholarship fund helps those who wish to participate in Parks & Recreation programs but lack the funds to do so.
