Citizens who wish to provide public comment are invited to attend public meetings or can provide comment by dialing in by phone at the published time. Parks & Recreation will hold a public forum to receive input regarding updates to the Calvert County Land Preservation, Parks & Recreation Plan. The public forum will be held as a virtual and in-person hybrid meeting on Thursday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.

Citizens interested in attending the meeting virtually or in person can do so by registering online.
The Office of the County Attorney, on behalf of the BOCC, will hold a public town hall meeting Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, from 6-8 p.m., to receive public input regarding the creation of a Calvert County Police Accountability Board.

The meeting will be held at the Harriet E. Brown Community Center, located at 901 Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick.

You're invited to revel in Calvert County history during Lower Marlboro Freedom Day on Saturday, Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Owings.

The daylong celebration commemorates the freedom of those who escaped slavery with the help of the British during the War of 1812.
Public Works advises citizens that demolition of the County Services Plaza building in Prince Frederick is currently underway. Individuals are advised to stay outside the fenced work zone for safety.

Demolition work began in early August, kicking off the initial phase of the $35.7 million project to build a new county administration building at the same location in the heart of Prince Frederick. The County Services Plaza, located on Main Street in Prince Frederick, was built in 1974.
Calvert County Government has reopened an information call center to assist eligible residents who wish to register for a booster or third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine through the Calvert County Health Department.

For questions or assistance scheduling an appointment, residents may call 410-535-0218, Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. To view the schedule of upcoming vaccine clinics, including mobile clinics, and to schedule an appointment online, residents may visit online.
