The BOCC celebrated the first phase of work for the new Twin Beaches Library location during a groundbreaking ceremony held Tuesday, May 24, 2022. The ceremony was held at the future library location at 4100 5th St. in North Beach.

The new branch is designed to be nearly four times the size of the current space with study space, terraces with views of the bay and dedicated children’s and teen spaces. Much of the facility design was influenced by public input including the beach-themed exterior, addition of art space and a large community meeting room.
