Welcome to my first email newsletter! I simply can't thank you enough for all the wonderful support you have given me as a reader. Over these first few years of blogging, I have received the kindest comments, emails, link love and inspiration. I've made many wonderful friends, some of which I have had the privilege to actually meet in person. Blogging is a blast and I am grateful to have been blessed with such a great opportunity to share and receive.

I've got so many exciting things to share, I hope you'll take a moment to read and enjoy.

Farewell Logos.
It's been a great ride. It all began several years ago, as I began narrowing down my graphic design services into something I did best:
designing logos. Business was great and I was fortunate to work with such wonderful clients and design logos for an incredible range of projects. I decided a few months ago that in order to work on my own brand, designs, patterns, crafts and products, a book or two and of course- to keep on my craft blog, and be a better wife and mother, something had to give.

I will continue to leave my online portfolio and design blog sites up for now as I may occasionally reference my past work, but am no longer taking on any graphic design projects. I would like to (one day) write an e-book: Logo Design According to Cathe Holden. It's a fabulous graphic design nich´┐Ż that I enjoyed immensely.

Hello Craft World!
Country Living Magazine
With no more graphic design clients, I'd been looking forward to designing surface & pattern designs for fabrics and such. But on my way to the drawing table, I received a few exciting craft project requests. One of which came from a fabulous editor at Country Living magazine. The initial request was for Shrinky Dink jewelry for the March issue, then garden shed label designs (free for you!) for the April issue, and even a fun little Mother's Day feature on their website in May of my tissue paper hydrangea! And now I am really looking forward to the upcoming July issue. But that's all I'll say. Ok, and the October issue, too!! (Am I dreaming?)

Bravissimo! by Making Memories

Have you seen the new Making Memories product, Bravissimo!? You can find them at your local Michael's Crafts.

They are brilliant, intricate, stylized awards that, when mixed with delicate ribbon and a customized message component create the ultimate personal expression.

Each of the three parts can be pieced together to form one of thousands of combinations. You can also purchase them as finished pieces. The first round of Bravissimo!

just released have been such a hit. Guess who is helping design future "Bravos"? (Yup!) I am enjoying every second of working with pretty paper, ribbon, glitter, graphics and another new and wonderful client.

Be sure to check your local Michael's Crafts events schedule for Making Memories Bravisimo!™ classes. Our local Petaluma Michael's store has a Bravissimo!™ class on May 22 from 1:00 - 3:00pm. Class is limited to 30 participants!

Maker Faire Demo & Project
I am heading down to San Mateo, California next weekend to attend the 2011 Maker Faire. I will be demo-ing my Vintage Book Cover Notebook project on Sunday, May 22. I will be giving away some awesome freebies including two sets of 3 Heavy Duty Punch Tools courtesy of
EKSuccess Brands™. These punches are the perfect tools for working with book covers!  Maker Faire / Craft

Watch for my Steampunk-style featured craft project on this Tuesday, May 17 at noon during their GEEK CRAFT month. My daughters thought it was waaay too weird. I'll take that as a compliment.
