Spaghetti Dinner TO-GO Fundraiser for FACETS
Sunday, October 25; 3–5 p.m.

You can pick up a delicious dinner of spaghetti, meatballs in homemade sauce, salad, and bread prepared under safe guidelines by our own Mark Schmitt, Tom Gadell, and his brother Mike Gadell, with sous chefs Brian Batsel, Lolly Mixter, and other volunteers. Sunday School for Pre-K–6th Grade

Sunday School for Youth
This Sunday; 10:30–11:15 a.m. In Person

All 7th–12th Grade students are welcomed. We alternate High School and Middle School in-person gatherings between the outdoor tent and the rear porch off the narthex. All in-person outdoor gatherings follow the church guidelines for social distancing, mask wearing, and hand sanitizing. Bring your own chairs and bring snacks and drinks if you like. Confirm not Conform

This Sunday there will be a meeting about the modified 2020–21 Confirm not Conform program for students in 9th–10th Grade and their parents. We'll meet under the outdoor tent at 11:30 a.m.

On Sunday, November 1 we will celebrate together All Saints and include our Service of Remembrance, joining in a celebration with those who stand upon another shore.

As a way to remember those who have gone before us, please send us any names of persons who you wish to remember; and/or a photo of persons who have died in this past year (Since last November 1) that you wish to have remembered with their name and their years of life dates. We will also be remembering those who have died from our parish this past year.

Please send us the correct spelling of the person’s name along with their dates (and a photo if died in this past year) to videos@holycomforter.com by Thursday, October 22.

Fall Life Snapshots
Introducing Holy Comforter Fall Life Snapshots! Please send us a photo and caption of your fall activities—whether it be a crafting or art project, roasting s'mores in the backyard, a road trip, or the brilliant colors of your fall garden. How are you making memories during this challenging time? Send your photo and caption (5 sentences maximum) to Elys McLean by noon every Wednesday, to be included in one of our Faith in the Time of Corona email communications.
OUTREACH
Pennywise Thrift Shop

We need jewelry and fall and winter clothing. Please consider donating during business hours: 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Tuesday–Friday; 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturdays; and Noon.–4 p.m. Sundays.

Pennywise is looking for 2 desk volunteers for each of two shifts (noon–2 p.m. and 2–4 p.m. Sundays. When you sign up, you will be contacted to confirm your shift, and arrange for training ahead of time if necessary. Sign up online HERE for Sunday shifts. Britepaths Update
and Request for Support

Thank you for your support of Britepaths families. In lieu of our regular November deliveries, and at the request of Britepaths staff, we will be providing gift cards to their client families instead of making grocery deliveries in person. The need they are seeing is greater than ever, and the families served are so grateful for the support. Please contribute online HERE. Select "Britepaths" in the Operating Fund dropdown menu. Support for Marshall Road Elementary School Families

We are partnering with other local faith communities in support of Marshall Road Elementary School students and families in need during this difficult time. We will be participating in monthly distributions of food and household supplies beginning in November. For now, our job is to provide the following:

  • cleaning supplies (laundry detergent, all-purpose cleaners, other)
  • paper towels
  • toilet tissue
  • diapers

Central Farmers Market at Holy Comforter

Journaling is a tool which can help individuals process their experiences and feelings. To help guide us in developing this instrument of reflection, Deborah Ross, a certified Journal Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor, is offering a course at Holy Comforter.
