Smell the Lavender!
When you turn off Beulah Road into Holy Comforter, slow down and look carefully at the two blue mounds of plants near the Holy Comforter sign. Those plants are now shooting forth their fragrant blue flowers and bees will soon be buzzing all around them. In mid June, these lavender blooms will be harvested one dry afternoon when the bees are less active and the blooms will be dried and removed from the stems. A small team of Holy Comforter members will prepare fabric sachets, fill them with Holy Comforter lavender, tie them with ribbons and affix a card of welcome. These sachet packets are part of the welcome bag that each visitor to Holy Comforter receives. These homegrown, hand prepared bags are special gifts from the ground of Holy Comforter and prepared with loving hands. You have a few weeks before the blooms are cut so be sure to notice the beauty of these plants and do take the time to smell the lavender. Soon the blooms will be gifts for our visitors.
