Lake Forest Station
In November, The City of Lake Forest opened a Pop Up shop at the East Lake Forest train station, introducing a first of its kind idea to the downtown shopping district for the holiday season.
Thank you to Alderman Jennifer Karras for her vision and to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Lake Forest, Coldwell Banker, @properties, Compass, and Griffith, Grant and Lackie for their sponsorship!
The City partnered with a number of Lake Forest non-profits. The Pop Up provided a venue to raise their visibility and sell branded items. A special collection of limited-edition Lake Forest merchandise was also available for purchase including two puzzles featuring artwork by Mark McMahon.
Sales of non-profit merchandise went back to their respective organizations. CROYA, Deer Path Art League, Elawa Farm, Gorton Community Center, LFHS Spirit Store, Lake Forest Open Lands Association, Lake Forest Library, History Center of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff, Mother’s Trust, Paws for Patrick, Ragdale and Reading Power were among those participating. Net profit from the collection of limited edition items will be distributed among the groups who helped staff the Pop Up.
Lake Forest Garden Club donated the beautiful floral arrangements located at the entrance of the Pop Up, and George Erkenswick, a talented student artist at Lake Forest High School, created the illustration of Lake Forest Station.
The City extends a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered or shopped at Lake Forest Station and hopes it helped make the holiday season a little bit brighter. Stay tuned for news on the Station returning later this year!

What to Expect After Getting a COVID-19 Vaccine
COVID-19 vaccination will help protect you from getting COVID-19. You may have some side effects, which are normal signs that your body is building protection. These side effects may affect your ability to do daily activities, but they should go away in a few days. If you have pain or discomfort, talk to your doctor about taking an over-the-counter medicine, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Common side effects include pain and swelling in the arm where you receive the shot. Check here for more information from the CDC.
