Dear Valued Customer,
Saturday, April 22 marked the 53rd Earth Day celebration, raising awareness about the importance of environmental stewardship, which defines what Clackamas Water Environment Services (WES) is all about.
WES is passionate about educating customers and community members from all walks of life to protect water quality and what we can all do together to protect our shared environment.
WES proudly partners with other agencies, county departments, cities, and community-based groups to educate and empower homeowners, businesses, and neighbors.
We welcome your involvement in helping us secure a clean water future where all people benefit and rivers thrive.
There's almost always an upcoming event that WES is sponsoring or hosting where you can join in and help protect our water. I encourage you to keep an eye on our events calendar. We also need your input through our Clean Water Exchange. Just click on the link below. Working together to protect our environment makes us stronger and benefits us all.
On behalf of your friends at WES, I wish you all a happy and healthy start to spring. It is our pleasure and privilege to serve you.
Sincerely,
Greg Geist, WES Director

Our five-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) contains the individual projects, equipment purchases, major design plans with construction and completion schedules and the projected costs. The plan provides a working blueprint for how we will maintain and improve our infrastructure.

Clackamas Area Interceptor Improvement Project
|
|
WES owns and operates the sewer infrastructure transporting wastewater from homes and businesses in Happy Valley, and the unincorporated areas around it, to our water resource recovery facilities. The existing Clackamas area primary sewer line (interceptor) has served unincorporated Clackamas County, Happy Valley and Carver well. However, improvements and upsizing are needed for WES to continue to provide a resilient, reliable sanitary sewer system to serve our community in the future.

While pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers can help control pesky weeds and insects, they can also cause other problems. All pesticides have some level of toxicity that can be harmful to honey bees, earthworms, aquatic bugs, fish and people.

Clackamas Water Environment Services produces clean water and protects water quality for nearly 200,000 people living and working in Clackamas County.
Each year, we clean more than seven billion gallons of water. In the process, we convert materials that have long been considered “waste” into natural energy and fertilizer. We also help reduce pollution in local rivers, streams, and wetlands caused by stormwater runoff, the number one source of water pollution in Oregon.
We educate and assist community members from all walks of life. It’s our job to ensure that our families and neighbors enjoy the benefits of safe, healthy water for generations to come.
WES is a county department, a service district and a ratepayer-funded organization.
We currently have openings for:
- Technical Services Specialist
- Wastewater Plant Operator 3
- Wastewater Plant Operations Supervisor
