A Message from Clackamas Water Environment Services Director Greg Geist

Dear Valued Customer,

Happy 2025! I hope this year brings you and your loved ones much happiness and good health.

At Clackamas Water Environment Services (WES), we’re excited to be your partner in building a cleaner and more resilient water future. Every decision we make is focused on delivering the reliable services you depend on every day.

This past year, we’ve made great strides on various projects that enhance our ability to support you and the diverse businesses and communities we serve. If you’d like to see what we’ve been up to and what we have planned for this year and beyond, feel free to check out our WES Projects webpage.

I also invite you to take a look at our Strategic Plan. This plan is our guiding star as we work to produce clean water, protect water quality and recover renewable resources. The initiatives in the plan are thoughtfully designed to help us achieve our vision of a clean water future while being responsible with our resources. Our goal is to serve you effectively and efficiently.

We truly value the relationships we have with the communities we serve. Whether we’re partnering on projects, supporting local events, or educating residents, we strive to be a friendly and collaborative partner in our clean water mission.

Your thoughts and feedback are important to us, and we’d love to hear from you! Feel free to reach out via email at wescustomerservice@clackamas.us.

Here’s to clean water for all!

Warm regards,

Greg Geist

Director, Clackamas Water Environment Services

Tri-City Water Resource Recovery Facility Outfall Project

The Clack-A-Mole tunnel boring machine, which we used to help us dig the tunnel for the Tri-City Water Resource Recovery Facility Outfall Project, completed its journey and emerged at the bottom of the Willamette River on Dec. 1. The next step will be to retrieve Clack-A-Mole from the river. We’ll keep you posted on the status. You can track Clack-A-Mole's journey here.

Rock Creek Interceptor Extension Project

The Rock Creek Interceptor Extension Project was identified as a priority in the Capital Improvement Plan to ensure a safe, resilient, reliable sanitary sewer system with the capacity to serve our community now and in the future. This project will provide additional capacity and system improvements to serve Clackamas County and portions of the Happy Valley, Pleasant Valley, and North Carver Comprehensive Plan area.

Don't Treat Your Toilet Like a Trash Can - Trash It, Don't Flush It!

Flushing trash doesn't make it magically disappear. It either clogs pipes or stops operation at the wastewater system. So, trash it... don't flush it!

February 2 is World Wetlands Day

Although wetlands cover only around 6 per cent of the Earth’s land surface, 40 per cent of all plant and animal species live or breed in wetlands. Wetland biodiversity matters for our health, our food supply, for tourism and for jobs.

World Wetlands Day is a global awareness campaign celebrated annually on February 2 to draw awareness to the value of wetlands.
