What’s Happening with Graduate and Employer Surveys?

The short answer is that the process for reporting the results of the graduate and employer surveys is changing.

The outcome data from graduate and employer surveys have been included in the CoAEMSP Annual Report. The information included the following elements for both graduates and employers: total number of graduates, total number of surveys sent, total number of surveys received, analysis of survey results, and an action plan based on the results. There is no minimum threshold for the number of surveys received, but programs must distribute to 100% of employed graduates and their employers.

Graduate and employer surveys will still be required; data will now be collected, collated, entered into the Graduate and Employer Survey Report annually, and submitted with the self-study report as part of the accreditation review process.

Graduate and Employer Surveys:

When, Why, and Challenges

Accredited programs are required to complete satisfaction surveys of graduates and employers, but what purpose do these questionnaires serve? Is it just one more requirement? Historically, it is difficult to find some graduates, and hence their employers, once they leave the program, so does it really matter, and is it worth the effort? The answer to both questions is yes.

Programs' Annual Report due October 15, 2026

All CAAHEP-accredited and CoAEMSP Letter of Review (LoR) paramedic and AEMT educational programs (receiving the LoR in 2025) must complete the CoAEMSP Annual Report for calendar year 2025.

If your program did not have graduates in 2025, the Annual Report is still required. Submission of this data is required to meet the recognition requirements of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), the accreditor of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

Key Information:

Download the 2025 Annual Report from the CoAEMSP's Annual Report webpage.

Completed 2025 Annual Report must be titled and submitted as follows:

  • Paramedic programs
  • 60xxxx (complete the program number in place of the xxxx) 2025 Annual Report
  • Example: 600999 2025 Annual Report

  • AEMT programs
  • 15xxxx (complete the program number in place of the xxxx) 2025 Annual Report
  • Example: 150999 2025 Annual Report

Email the completed 2025 Annual Report to AnnualReports@coaemsp.org.

  • Completed Annual Reports must be in the Excel format and template as provided and designated for 2025.

  • Do not use a collaborative platform to complete the Annual Report, which will alter built-in formulas (e.g., Google Sheets, SharePoint, ShareFile).

  • Review the Annual Report for completeness and accuracy before submitting it.

  • 2025 Annual Report Outcomes for Retention, Written Exam, and Positive Placement must be posted on the program’s website and verifiable when the annual report is submitted.

  • Incomplete Annual Reports will not be accepted and they will be returned to the program with the requested corrections.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the report and complete the Attestation statement, and sign and date the report.
  • If there is a yellow box below your name and date, do not submit the Annual Report; look for questions left blank and complete those questions. The yellow box will disappear when all questions have been answered.

  • General Information questions #1 and #2 request the "published clock hours" for the program in calendar year 2025. Provide the numbers for questions #1 and #2, even if you did not have a cohort graduate in 2025. The published clock hours are for research purposes only.
